NaviGator AI Model Lifecycle Policy
Model States
All models within the NaviGator AI platform follow a clear lifecycle with three primary states:
- Active – Models currently supported and recommended for production use.
- Legacy – Models scheduled for deprecation and eventual end-of-life (EOL).
- EOL (End of Life) – Models no longer available for use.
Transition to Legacy
When a model is moved from Active to Legacy, NaviGator AI will:
- Notify all active users of the change in state.
- Provide at least 3 months’ advance notice before the model reaches its EOL date.
- Continue to support the model during the Legacy period, though new users will not be able to access it.
During this time, you should plan and begin migration to an Active replacement model to avoid disruption.
Legacy Period Access
Active users can continue to use Legacy models throughout the Legacy period, but should expect:
- Limited updates (bug fixes only, no new features).
- Potentially higher pricing or usage costs, depending on model hosting and compute demands.
- Reduced priority in performance and availability guarantees, as resources are reallocated to Active models.
Inactivity during the Legacy period may result in early loss of access.
End of Life (EOL)
Once a model reaches its EOL date:
- It will be fully decommissioned and removed from all production endpoints.
- Requests made to EOL models will result in an error response.
- Data and usage associated with the model may be archived or deleted according to NaviGator AI’s data retention policy.
You are expected to complete migration to an Active model before the EOL date.
